Singing For The Christ is an answer to the earnest prayers of Krishnam Raju Akula / Christopher. Krishnam was born and raised in Vizag city by his parents Late Akula Krishna garu – Banker and Late Smt. Akula Rajamma garu – Retd. AASO NAD(V). Krishnam was fascinated by music from a very young age and he started listening to all music genres. His cousin brother used to have a collection of more than 1000 audio cassettes and vinyl records in 90s. Krishnam started listening to songs from a very young age and he got interested in, especially, Indian and Western music. This lead to his passion towards listening and enjoying music.

Krishnam, as he grew in Christ, started listening to Jesus Calls Gospel Music albums by Late DGS Dinakaran and Ron Kenoly’s – Lift Him Up was his first Western Gospel Music album. He continued to explore and listening to other gospel music albums. As he matured in his faith in Christ, his heart, mind and soul turned towards Gospel music and never turned back. Krishnam, began to evolve a passion for praise and worship Lord Jesus Christ.

In the year 2006, Krishnam was introduced to Kripal Mohan’s Gospel albums and it helped him come much closer to Christ through praise and worship.

In the year 2014, Samuel Smiles Godi met Krishnam to get creative assistance for the launch of his first Gospel album – Sarvanidhi. During this project Krishnam shared his passion for gospel music with Smiles and his wish to organise a Gospel Music festival in Vizag city through which Youth of the city could come together to celebrate Christ through Praise, Worship and Word. Smiles came forward to take up the initiative and in the year 2014 Singing For the Christ – Season 1, a 2 days Gospel Music Festival was organised in Vizag city. 

Krishnam Raju Akula / Christopher is the Co-founder of Singing For The Christ Praise and Worship Music Festival. He is a Digital Consultant and Entrepreneur by profession and works for a multinational Corporate Branding and Communications firm. He attends Genesis Church – Vizag City and is an alumni of Kendriya Vidyalaya. He has a Bachelors Degree in Computer Applications and Masters in Journalism and Mass Communications. He loves studying Science, Theology, Apologetics, Philosophy, History, Religion & Politics.

Krishnam lives in Vizag City with his wife Deepti and his two gorgeous daughters, Aradhana and Stuti.
