Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,

I’m Krishnam Raju Akula / Christopher from Vizag. It’s only the grace and blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ as he gave me an opportunity to organise this Christian Gospel Musical Concert named — Singing For The Christ to glorify Him.

A thought was brewing in my mind for the past few years. I always wanted to organise a Christian music festival that is dedicated to Christian gospel music. The main reason behind this event is to Praise and Worship Christ. Praise and Worship is one of the reasons for me to get closer to Christ. Praise and worship touch human hearts to the depths. When we praise and worship our Lord Jesus, the music and lyrics touches our souls and draw us nearer to our Lord. This kind of personal experience has led me to organise this music festival. Christ has blessed me and my team at every step.

After much planning and prayers, we have decided to organise Singing For The Christ event. I always wanted to organise an event whose theme and the aim is all about worshipping and praising our Lord Jesus. And of course, I wanted to make sure that we Christians understand the meaning and importance of worship and praise that we offer to our Lord Jesus on a daily basis.

Through this event, I want to also provide a platform to all the upcoming gospel singers, musicians and worship teams who love to worship and praise to our Christ. I wanted to give an opportunity to all those who are willing and interested in being a part of an event that is meant for the Lord Jesus rather than people and the world. Also, I would like to provide a platform to all the upcoming producers of Christian Gospel Music Albums for introducing their Gospel album and even supporting the launch of their Christian gospel albums. This music festival is not a mega-budget event but at least it would cater those few who attend this event.

I strongly believe that Singing For The Christ is Christ’s plan. Last year, I met Bro. Samuel Smiles Godi, Singer and Musician, when he approached me for help regarding the making and launch of his Christian Gospel Album: Sarvanidhi – My Everything!. While working on his album, I shared my desire to organise Singing For The Christ and Smiles promised to help me with organising this event. After a few weeks of discussions, we came up with the plan and here we go, we are all set for the event on 21-22 February 2014.

During the past few weeks, our team have been blessed abundantly. I was surprised and happy when we met Ashirvad Luke sir in his office regarding this event. I should confess that Ashirvad sir is a blessing to our Christian Music fraternity. When we briefed our thoughts and plans about Singing For The Christ event to Ashirvad sir, he immediately gave us his word and said that he would support us and guide us in every way possible.

Ashirvad Luke sir has also graciously accepted our invitation to be the Chief Guest for the Singing For The Christ event. We are excited to jointly praise and worship our Lord Jesus Christ.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my childhood friend and brothers in Christ Tarakeswara Rao and Vijay Kumar from Genesis Church, Simhapuri Colony, Vizag. Without their hard work, commitment and passion, this event would not have been possible. I have no words to describe how tirelessly both my friends have worked day and night behind the scenes to make Singing For The Christ event a great success. Christ is using them greatly.

I would like to thank and pray from the bottom of my heart Bro Samuel Smiles Godi for taking up this initiative from day one till this moment and until the event is successfully completed. He is the torchbearer for this entire event. He spent countless hours organising practice sessions and he personally got involved in many other arrangements. I have no enough words to describe how hardworking he is and how blessed I am to work with him for this event.

Last but not the least, I would like to thank all the singers, musicians and participants who spent their valuable time in the presence of our Lord Jesus. Almost all the participants are young and energetic. They could have spent their time with their family and friends, instead, they choose to spend their time in the presence of our Lord Jesus. They did not think twice and were always there on time. The most overwhelming thing is, none of them is expecting anything from us. Each and every one of them has volunteered to be a part of this event. I cannot ask much from them and I will not be able to give them anything in return for their valuable contribution. All I can do is to pray to Lord Jesus to bless them abundantly in their studies, careers and family life and to use them for His glory for eternity.

I pray from the bottom of my heart to Lord Jesus to bless each and every brother and sister who is working hard for this event. I strongly believe that this Christian gospel musical event is Christ’s plan and He would make sure it happens according to His will.

Last but not the least, I would like to thank my family, especially, my mother Akula Rajamma garu for encouraging me all the time to invest in the kingdom of Christ.
